Terms of Service

1. Service Description

MRU Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 31 150 938 113), trading as Statement Zen (“Statement Zen”, “we”, “us”) provides a cloud-based vendor statement reconciliation platform that uses artificial intelligence to match uploaded vendor statements against accounting records in Xero, QuickBooks, and Vista by Viewpoint (“the Service”). The Service is accessible at app.statementzen.com.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at legal@statementzen.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Free Tier & Trials

New accounts include a permanent free tier with a monthly allowance of verified statements, at no cost and with no payment method required. You may upgrade to a paid plan at any time when you need more volume. You are only charged for statements we verify — results we cannot verify do not count against your allowance.

4. Payments & Billing

• We are the seller and merchant of record for all purchases. Payments are processed securely by Stripe Payments, a PCI DSS Level 1 payment processor. Stripe handles card processing on our behalf; we handle billing enquiries, invoicing, and refunds directly. We do not store your card details on our servers.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Prices are displayed and applicable taxes (GST/VAT/sales tax) are calculated and collected via Stripe Tax based on your location.
• Prices may change with 30 days’ written notice. Existing subscriptions are honoured at the current rate until the next renewal.
• All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (including GST).

5. Cancellation & Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your first charge for a full refund. See our Refund Policy for full details.
• After the 14-day guarantee period, no refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process data you do not have the right to use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Share your account credentials with unauthorised third parties
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or any content designed to damage the Service
• Exceed the usage limits of your plan (pages per month, users, connected ERPs)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, AI models, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of MRU Consulting Pty Ltd (trading as Statement Zen). Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your internal business purposes.

You retain all rights to the data you upload. We claim no ownership over your financial documents or accounting data.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Statement Zen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Our total aggregate liability under these terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we strive for accuracy, AI-powered matching is not a substitute for professional accounting advice. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all reconciliation results.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
